Style & Philosophy

My approach to wedding photography is both photojournalistic and traditional. My goal is to capture your wedding day as it happens naturally (Maui style) with a photojournalistic approach along with beautiful environmental portraits. I like to work with you in advance to help with a photography time-line and if you have questions about specific wedding locations here on Maui. My goal is to make your day go as smooth and spontaneous as possible. I want you to be able to enjoy your family and friends and not feel like you are in an all day photo session.

Wedding Photography packages

Depending on your wedding location and if you are using a Maui wedding planner, your photography package can vary. I work with several of the Maui resorts and wedding coordinators in Wailea, Kaanapali & Kapalua, if their wedding packages include photography I offer a full photography credit towards any album upgrades that you may choose. I have put together several wedding and album packages that I feel can best meet your wedding photography needs. Also, all of the wedding photography packages can be upgraded after the wedding and review of the images. On an average I take 500 to 800 images, I like to have a variety of images for you to choose from when designing your wedding album. We capture the details of your wedding from the bride getting ready to family and group photos. During the ceremony I take an overview of the wedding, along with all the expected ceremony shots, and most of all we focus on getting romantic and beautiful environmental portraits of the bride and groom.

After the Wedding

If possible I like to meet for about 45 minutes a day or two after the wedding to review photos and choices for album styles and design. I include 3 sets of CDs for your home viewing and to give to family members. Once you have decided on your album and images you would like to see in your album we will start the design process and we will email back and forth as the design comes together. The most popular albums I sell are the panorama albums by Zookbinders. We also offer a full selection of canvas wall portraits and parent albums.

Upgraded to Glove Leather, this album lays flat and the panorama format allows us to create a seamless look because there is no visible hinge. Each page is custom designed and may have 1 to 5 images per side with solid or scenic backgrounds. (average of 110 images)

Terms and Conditions

  • It is understood that Steve Strand is the sole and exclusive photographer, and others are permitted to photograph only at our discretion.
  • The studio reserves the right to use any and all images for the purposes of display, advertising, editorial, promotion, or print competition. Digital files and previews remain the exclusive property of this studio.
  • A Retainer Fee (non refundable) of $250 is required to reserve the Wedding Date and to guarantee the contracted price; balance is due on or before the day of the session. The contracted price is guaranteed up to three months after the photo session. Prices are subject to change without notice.
